Julie’s purpose driven nature for serving others, while empowering them in their own pursuit of excellence and seeing first hand, a family member’s personal information being compromised, has made her new role with Pocket Security a match made in heaven.
Julie has been in higher education (non-profit) since she left college, with the exception of one year, when she returned to her high school alma mater to coach the very same sport programs she was involved with as a high school athlete. Throughout her career, Julie has worn many hats, including: a tenured Professor of Kinesiology; a college championship coach; committee member for many professional organizations, including a two year stint as the Chair of the NCAA Division III Membership Committee (overseeing over 400 NCAA member institutions) and as an athletic administrator at the highest levels. While at her most recent institution, Earlham College, she was an Associate Vice President, Senior Director of Athletics and served as the Chair of the Exercise Science major. Julie was also honored as one of the University of La Verne’s 125 Most Influential People in 2017.
As the Chief Operating Officer, Julie will lead all day to day operations and will serve as the lead contact. Her experience as a mission driven leader, especially in the field of intercollegiate athletics will help create and foster a strong sense of team within our organization. We are confident that her high-level understanding of operations, strategic planning, fundraising, program building & management with sustained success, and collaborative project management will ensure Pocket Security’s long-term success.
“Witnessing first hand, the breach of a very close family member’s identity, there is no doubt in my mind that there is a critical need to educate, increase awareness and establish proactive best practices to protect individuals and organizations from cyber-attacks that can cause irreparable damage for a lifetime. Pocket Security is here to provide that safeguard.
